Few people can claim to have had a bigger impact on the hip-hop scene than Stretch Armstrong and his award winning radio show with partner in crime Bobbito Garcia. Instrumental in breaking legendary acts such as Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Nas and Eminem, not to mention rap icons such as Wu-Tang, Busta Rhymes, Brand Nubian and Mobb Deep, the NY DJ will be bringing his wealth of experience to LIMF in what is sure to be an unforgettable night.

Joining him will be original NY dons Kool DJ Red Alert, Clark Kent, Jungle Brothers with one of the most successful British-American rappers of all time, Slick Rick, making a special appearance, his only UK show, to host proceedings, bringing a true flavour of Old Skool New York to the stunning confines of Sefton Park Palm House.

DJ Stretch Armstrong comments: “Really looking forward to joining you all in Liverpool this summer for this exclusive event taking place in the LIMF. The focus will be hip-hop between ’88 and ’99, and as such, it’s only fitting that I’m bringing along with me the legendary Kool DJ Red Alert and God’s favourite DJ, Super DJ Clark Kent, and we’ll be joined by Jungle Brothers and the one and only Slick Rick. This promises to be a tremendous night for hip-hop fans old and young.”

The Sefton Park Palm House will play host to LIMF Presents No Sleep on July 23rd

Commenting on his only UK show in 2017, Slick Rick said: An honour, pleasure and privilege to be performing in Liverpool, home of The Beatles. Excited about performing on British soil, my stomping ground. Get ready to party with me, let the good times roll.”

A limited number of free tickets will be available for existing LIMF ticket holders to a live No Sleep Q&A and book signing on Saturday 22nd July at Lost Art Shop, in association with Lost Art x No Fakin. DJ Stretch Armstrong will discuss the New York hip-hop scene between 88-99, ahead of his No Sleep party the following evening. Details on how to reserve a ticket will become available on the LIMF website soon.
