5 Things to see and do at Steam on the Dock 2018

Steam on the Dock returns to Albert Dock and there’s so much to see and do!

There’s a fab weekend of free, family fun happening at Albert Dock as Steam on the Dock returns on 12th-13th May 2018, for it’s 3rd year. With more than 30 steam engines on both land and water, tooting and chuffing their way around the historic waterfront site, you can get a close up look at the grand machines of the industrial age, plus lots of interactive fun.

There’s lots of new attractions at Steam on the Dock, from live music and street theatre, to craft workshops at Merseyside Maritime Museum and remarkable monster machines that show what steam power can really do. There’s lots of tasty street food to tuck into and also a craft beer tent at Mermaid Court. Bring your dancing shoes and don’t forget your camera for a fun-filled day out at Steam on the Dock.

Here’s 5 things to see and do at Steam on the Dock 2018…

1 – Show-Stopping Steam

The Steam Showcase Parade at 1pm & 3pm on both days of the festival, is a truly unmissable opportunity to experience the Albert Dock as a working, industrial dock in the 19th century as steam engines, big and small, thunder around this historic site.

2 – Name that Tune

Stop by the steam fairground organ and look out for the hilarious One Man Band and Phoebe who will have your little ones boogying all weekend long.

3 – Mr Bernard’s Circus

We’ve all seen impressive circus skills before but Mr Bernard will thrill and delight all ages with his peacock juggling and stilt walking skills. See if you can get a selfie with the master of entertainment.

4 – Curiouser & Curiouser

Keep your eyes peeled for two very special steam machines. The Curious Contrivance will be huffing and….flapping it’s way around the crowds plus don’t blink…or you’ll miss the speedy Steam Bregazzi Buggy too!

5 – Free, Family Fun

You can enjoy all this brilliant fun, for free! Explore the Albert Dock, get crafty, have a boogie and take in all the sights and sounds of Steam on the Dock for free.
