8 Merseyside places you can see baby animals this Easter Holidays
We’re huge animal lovers here at The Guide Liverpool and with the brand new arrival at Chester Zoo this week, Spring is our favourite time of the year to head down to the farm.
We’re really lucky to have so many awesome city farms, a safari park and zoo all within 40 mins drive of our city centre, and we’ve rounded up 8 of the best for you and the kids to enjoy this Easter holidays. From brand new lambs, piglets and chicks to a tiny orang-utan baby and wobbly-legged Rothschild giraffe, now is the perfect time to grab your wellies and have fun on the farm this Easter!
1 – Acorn Farm, L33 3AR
Acorn Farm is an award-winning, family-friendly attraction in Kirkby, Merseyside and is open 7 days a week from 10-4pm. Over Easter you’re invited to stroke and feed the farm animals and check out the cheeky meerkats! Kids admission is just £1.50. More info here.
2 – Farmer Teds, L39 7HW
We all know and love Farmer Ted’s and now there’s even more fun to be had down on the farm. With the brand new addition of huge jumping pillows and a wooden, adventure maze, there’s more than just lambs and piglets to entertain kids of all ages. All the Easter fun details are here.
3 – Tam O’ Shanters Farm, CH43 7PD
Situated on Bidston Hill on the Wirral, the Tam O’Shanter historic cottage and free urban farm bursting with Easter fun activities. Open from 9:30 til 4:30pm everyday, your little ones can get involved with Easter crafts, pace painting and balloons as well as see all the new arrivals. More information here.
4 – Croxteth Park Farm, L12 0HB
There are more Spring piglets than you can count at Croxteth Park Farm, and your little ones will love the huge variety of animals just waiting to be discovered at this lesser known city farm. 5 – Knowsley Safari Park, L34 4AN
Book your Knowsley Safari Park tickets online and get 20% off all Easter. Take an ‘eggs-ilarating’ trip around the safari drive and discover how much the animals love springtime too. Treat your little ones to a Animal Workshop at Rice Lane City Farm this Easter week where they can learn all about care and feeding plus there’s also craft and cookery sessions happening too. Meet the Easter Bunny at Church Farm this Easter weekend alongside loads of fun activities for young families. Jump on the tractor to begin your detective work and wind your way back to the farm to take in the animal feeding sessions (including these cute alpacas!). Find out more here.
8 – Chester Zoo, CH2 1LH
Okay so not technically in Merseyside, but we couldn’t leave out Chester Zoo when it comes to animal experiences! Just a 30 min drive from the city, and with brand new baby arrivals, Chester Zoo brings animals from across the globe to the north west. A brand new baby Rothschild giraffe and a baby orang-utan were born this week, and with the promise of brighter weather, this Easter weekend is the perfect time to visit. Book your tickets here.
