An Audience with Rebecca Ferguson: 10 Things We Learned About Liverpool’s Soulful Songstress

All eyes (and ears) were on the Albert Dock yesterday as fans from around the North West flocked to Gusto to be part of a live Q&A with the fabulous Rebecca Ferguson, hosted by our very own Jay Hynd.

Watch all of the highlights in our video above including excerpts from some of Rebecca’s incredible live performances.

The event, organised by Carolyn Hughes PR, was in aid of local charity, Cash 4 Kids, which supports disabled and disadvantaged children across the Merseyside area. Rebecca Ferguson is a well-known supporter of Cash 4 Kids having faced difficult times during her own childhood and commends the brilliant work they do to support local families.

Guests were treated to arrival drinks, a sumptuous three-course lunch served by the wonderful Gusto chefs and waiting staff, and a copy of Rebecca’s fourth album, Superwoman, ahead of a very lively auction and raffle draw which included prizes from Carter & Co jewellery, Liverpool One and Carden Park, raising much needed funds for the charity.

With every seat taken and glasses re-filled, Jay invited Rebecca to take to the stage for the much anticipated Q&A session as Radio City 2 presenter, Claire Simmo delved into the audience for their questions. Following a hilarious word association game and a standing ovation for Rebecca’s unyielding work ethic, Jay introduced the first of three live performances that had everyone on their feet.

Having wowed the audience yet again with her live vocal performance of the title track from her album, Superwoman, Rebecca talked at length about her time on X Factor, how she likes to unwind with friends (and a glass of red wine) and how despite working away at times, Liverpool will always be her home.

The audience were thrilled to sing along to the closing track, ‘Nothing’s Real but Love’ having laughed along with Rebecca taking on Jay’s quick fire questions.

The afternoon came to an end following a warm message of thanks from event organiser, Carolyn Hughes, of Carolyn Hughes PR, before guests moved to the bar and lounge area for photo’s and autographs. Guests included Fashion Designers Tony & Phillip Armstrong, Marcus Collins, Emmerdale’s Gillian Kearney and Lady Grantchester and model and entrepreneur Rebeckah Vaughan.

Having experienced Rebecca’s vocals in such an intimate setting and heard her talk about personal experiences as not only a singer, but also a single mum and friend, we came to the conclusion that Rebecca Ferguson is a true superwoman.
