Cage Warriors returns to the Echo Arena for 2017
Cage Warriors makes its eagerly awaited return to Echo Arena Liverpool on 1 April 2017, with two of the biggest names in UK MMA, hometown heroes Paddy Pimblett and Chris Fishgold.
The proud scousers are on the road to the very top of the sport and the city of Liverpool is 100% behind both Paddy and Chris. They plan to put their hometown on the MMA map in what will be Cage Warriors biggest show to date on 1 April.
Both Paddy and Chris had triumphant nights the last time Liverpool played host to Cage Warriors with the local lads both taking home world titles – 1 April promises to be bigger and better.
Our Rachel Rhodes met ‘Paddy the Baddy’ ahead of this year’s Cage Warriors…
Graham Boylan, president of Cage Warriors, said: “After their show stopping heroics in September we sat down with both Chris and Paddy to discuss their future and they decided they wanted to represent their people and keep the cameras of Cage Warriors and eyes of the world on them and on Liverpool – that’s why we’re coming back. In April it will be bigger and better.”
Cage Warriors is one of the most respected regional MMA promotions in the world, discovering and nurturing some of the biggest names in MMA today. Renowned as a proving ground for European talent, three of the current UFC champions, Englishman Michael Bisping, Polish star Joanna Jedrzeczyk and the sport’s biggest name Irishman Conor McGregor all honed their skills in CWFC before fighting for the UFC. Paddy and Chris are already following the same path currently holding the Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight titles.
