Circo closes its final curtain at Albert Dock Venue with incredible farewell party

Circo has drawn its curtains on Liverpool’s Albert Dock for the final time following a closing party that saw the venue go out with a bang.

After delivering a duo of dinner shows, the iconic Circus inspired venue put on a show-stopping finale to coincide with its ninth birthday, which welcomed the return of legendry local DJ Lee Butler and ‘Brothers and Sisters’ artist 2 Funky 2.

The reminiscent closing party took place ahead of the unveiling of Circo’s novel pop-up concept, set to operate at Hangar 34 throughout November and December.

Owner of Circo Jason McNeill said: “Our closing party was certainly a fantastic way to end our nine-year stint at Albert Dock with a bang. It was wonderful to welcome so many guests who have enjoyed Circo throughout the years, have shared many memories within our walls and wanted to say until next time in true circus style.

“Ahead of the next chapter of our journey, we raised a toast to the future of our much-loved concept with the forthcoming unveiling of our pop-up venue in the city’s Baltic Triangle, which will be entertaining and delivering the Circo magicthroughout November and December. Seasoned lovers of the Circo brand need not worry, as the site will remain similar to our original concept by continuing to play host to our famous circus shows and house many of our much loved features.”

Following the site’s closure on Albert Dock, the pop-up venue will reside in Liverpool’s hottest new music venue Hangar 34 throughout the remaining weeks of 2016. The unique circus concept will permanently move to its new 7,000 sq. ft. Ropewalks location on Seel Street in early 2017.
