Foodie Event of the Month – Feast of St Valentine @ The Tate – 11th February
The Tate welcomes this one off, truly special evening of art and food.
During the evening, you’ll enjoy a chilled glass of Prosecco in our magnificent Foyer, before a private view of Tracey Emin and William Blake in Focus. Following on from your look at two iconic British artists is a locally-sourced three-course dinner in the quaintly pictoreque Tate Liverpool café, with decoration by Sir Peter Blake.
Gaze out at the incredible views over the Albert Dock, while you and your loved ones delight in the wonderful food prepared by our in-house chefs, accompanied by classical music throughout the evening.

Hanover Street has seen a recent boom in bars and restaurants, with 6 new venues in the last year. One of those newbies is Yard & Coop, boasting buttermilk-fried chicken of the highest quality. If you were to go for the light bites, or something more like the chicken wings, then you could fill your boots, and your belly, with £30 worth of nibbles, however, if you were more inclined to go for the likes of the burgers then a mains for two is probably more appropriate. Dish of the Month – Chat Bombs @ Mowgli
These little balls of yoghurt provide an explosion of taste in just one bite. This should come as no surprise to those of you who have been to Mowgli before, as this Indian Street Food vendor is all about taste. The Chat Bombs sum up just what it is about Mowgli that is so appealing: great tasting, easy to share, bite size food. The crispy, pastry like shell encapsulates a refreshing burst of mint yoghurt with pomegranate seeds.
February is the month of love, and there is nothing like sharing food to make (or break) a relationship. Go for the Chat Bombs and we’re sure that the crunch shell is the only thing that will be breaking.

Eatery of the Month – Slim’s Pork Chop Express
January’s “meatery of the month” was based around the burger, with the 23 Club adding a certain class to a congested market.
Now for something for completely different – Slim’s Pork Chop Express. This pan-Asian style meat-feast sets itself apart from the more standard burger joints, rib-shacks and chicken shops by fusing a mighty meaty menu with oriental spice, décor and sides. Whether is be for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Slim’s Pork Chop Express has the power to satisfy your curiosity, creativity and inner carnivore.
Veggie/Vegan Venue of the Month – The Art School
The Art School is simply gorgeous. Chef, Pal Askew, is a North West Food Champion and is recognised as one of the region’s best chefs. Former Director of the highly acclaimed hope street hotel and London Carriage Works Restaurant and became a fellow of the Royal Academy of the Culinary Art. His dream to open a fine dine food haven in Liverpool city centre came to life when The Art School doors opened in September 2014, and he has never looked back. And why would he? The setting is only outdone in beauty by the various menus, a perfect setting for a valentines date night.
Although this place is by no means strictly vegan or vegetarian, there are separate menus for both dietary requirements. Whether it be a soufflé, poached pear or a confit of various description, this really is fine dining of the veggie variety. So grab your meat eating, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan friends and get down The Art School for your next celebration.
