Get a first look at Concert Square’s Indoor Gin Garden at Modo

Summer has arrived on Concert Square with a huge treat for Gin lovers.

Some big changes have taken place in Concert Square recently, with one of Liverpool’s best-known venues, Modo getting an extensive redevelopment, just in time for the Summer.

The longest running venue on the square, Modo has been the go-to bar for locals and visitors alike, for more than 21 years. A large-scale refurbishment programme started in March and is now complete creating with five unique spaces, spread over three floors, each with their own theme and atmosphere.

For the first time in over a decade, Modo’s first floor has been reopened and transformed by designers into Paradiso, a hidden garden, that brings the festival vibe to the heart of the city. Unique to Concert Square, the flower-filled space cleverly mixes gorgeous swags of greenery and lush planting with eye-catching neons, raw wood and rustic brickwork.

Paradiso also benefits from the addition of a new glass-fronted terrace that runs the full width of the complex, and overlooks the main square below; its canopy roof even opens; so customers can catch some rays or just dance to resident DJs, as the sun goes down. Open seven days a week, Paradiso features exclusive pop-up residencies by big name drinks brands and launches with a tempting selection of gin and prosecco serves, along with craft beers and cocktails.

As well as the new first floor, the ground floor has a brand new bar which serves both out to the boardwalk and square with its all-weather canopy, as well as into the ground floor club room, which is decorated in shades of navy and Tiffany blue, with frosted glass lighting and copper accents.

The late night basement bar, Underground, has also been refreshed and now links the 2-storey bar and Mexican-themed event space ‘Fridas’ into the complex, which like all the venue’s areas is available for private hire and party bookings.

Talking about the refurbishment, Modo Brand Manager, Laura Harris commented: “We’re very excited about the new look Modo. As the longest running bar on Concert Square, we wanted to really ring the changes and give customers a completely different concept, something that was more in tune with today’s market. With the initial designs, we looked towards places such as the Baltic Triangle for inspiration and we believe Paradiso is a real game changer for this area of the city – especially with its gorgeous gin garden.

“We have enjoyed collaborating with our fantastic brand partners, who we will continue to work with to update the offer seasonally – however it’s not all change at Modo, and customers needn’t worry, they will still be able to enjoy our famous 2-for-1 cocktails which we introduced over two decades ago and which still remain our best sellers today!”

Modo is open seven days a week until late. For further information please visit Facebook and Instagram @modolpl. For all table, party and hire bookings call 0151 709 8832.
