Gino D’Acampo, was in Liverpool last night to host a special evening at My Restaurant.

The party for 200 guests opened with a reception of Prosecco and cicchetti, followed by a delicious, four course meal, paired with the finest Italian wine.

Talking guests through every dish, created exclusively by the popular chef for the evening, Gino shared stories of his time growing up in Italy, his journey as a chef and why the dishes served are amongst his own personal favourites.

With drinks flowing and the atmosphere bubbling, guests were invited to turn the tables on the Italian chef and popular TV presenter, with questions taken from the floor.  Filling the beautiful open plan restaurant with laughter Gino happily answered every question posed.

No stranger to the city, the evening was the latest in a string of visits from the chef to Liverpool further to opening the doors to his acclaimed Castle Street restaurant in July 2017.

Speaking on the evening, Gino said: “It’s great to be back in Liverpool.  I love spending time with guests in my restaurants, they tell you exactly what they think and it’s important to get that feedback.”

Laughing, Gino added: “Tonight I invited guests to ask me whatever they liked; they were very kind and kept questions strictly to food and my career as a chef.  That and Justin Beaver from my road trip with Gordon and Fred, I’m happy to tell you that yes I do still have him, he lives in my bedroom!”

The evening was the first of two events to be hosted in the North West this month, with an evening at Gino’s My Pizza & Prosecco Bar, Manchester, to follow on Wednesday February 13th.
