Guide Live: We say farewell to Channel 4 & click our Ruby heels together at the Royal Court

Channel 4 is off down the M62 but we’re dusting off our shoulders and our ruby slippers.

We’ve got to admit that we’re a little bit gutted that Channel 4 hasn’t shortlisted our amazing city as a location or its new HQ but you know what, we’re not going to dwell on it! With Liverpool Film Studios in the pipeline and more stars in the city than you can shake an Oscar at, we wont be down for too long!

Kate & Simmo are back in The Guide Live studios and they’re getting ready to click their heels together as The Ruby Slippers opens tonight at The Royal Court. Starring Kurtis Stacey, the show explores personal identity as Ray played by Kurtis, harbours a secret! The show runs until 28th July, get your tickets here.

The temperatures at set to soar this week and what better place to enjoy a family day out than at Calderstones Beach! Open right now with a giant sandpit, fairground rides for all ages and on Wednesdays you can buy 10 ride tokens for just £10. Click here to get yours in advance and find out more.

Liverpool Pride returns this weekend and alongside the main stage, hosted by our Jay & Simmo, there’s lots to see and so. The Manchester Airport San Francisco stage is bringing the cabaret fun and the Bluecoat is hosting Sundae Funday, packed with activities for all ages too. More info here.

More info on what’s on this week in the best city in the world is right here.
