Liverpool Christmas Market returns to St George’s Hall with 3 unmissable festive events

It’s not properly Winter until you’ve wandered around Liverpool Christmas Market

Is there anything more Christmassy than traditional carols at St George’s Hall, mulled wine and mistletoe from the fairy-lit market stalls, all wrapped up in your best, most snazzy Christmas jumper, surrounded by friends and family? Well you’re in luck because St George’s Hall is hosting 3 events alongside the return of the brilliant Liverpool Christmas Market, outside on the plateau.

Here’s your run down on the festive fun coming to St George’s Hall this Winter……

1 – The Christmas Jumper Ceilidh

First up how do you fancy a night of incredible live music, home baked pies, goodies from Liverpool Cheese company and of course a welcome drink on arrival to the great hall? The Christmas Jumper Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-Lee) is taking place on Friday 1st December from 8pm and will include performances from resident band, Gallimafaury and The Secret Ukulele Band. Suitable for over 18’s only, this is the perfect opportunity to don your best Rudolph  chunky knit and raise a glass to St Nick. Tickets are available here.

How good does this sound for an alternative Christmas night out? We’ve got 5 PAIRS OF TICKETS to give away for the Christmas Jumper Ceilidh on our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Look out for our competition tweet and Facebook post, follow the simple instructions and tag a mate you’d take with you to be in with a chance of winning.

T&C’s: The prize is non-transferable, only one entry per person is permitted and the winners will be chosen on Tuesday 7th November. Good Luck!

Nothing says Christmas like a carol concert, so warm up those vocals as there are 4 opportunities to hark the herald!  Christmas Carols in the Concert Room will see opera singer Danielle Thomas, the Sing Me Merseyside Choir and Allerton Brass Band take to the stage to perform an array of much-loved songs, from traditional carols right through to modern classics. Tickets are £15 and include a mince pie and glass of mulled wine. The concert will take place on Thursday 7th and Thursday 14th December 2017 at 2pm and 8pm on both days. Click here to get your tickets and have a mooch around Liverpool Christmas Market while you’re there.

3 – The Snow Ball

The Snow Ball will transform the Great Hall at St George’s for two, black-tie events.

Taking place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th December 2017 from 7pm, The Snow Ball is set to be an evening of glitz and glamour as the Great Hall gets a snowy make-over to look its best for this black tie event. After a welcome glass of fizz, you can dance the night away to floor-fillers courtesy of the amazing Motown band, James Franklin & Soul Machine on Friday, and the crooning sounds of Frank Sinatra tribute act, Perfectly Frank on Saturday. Tickets are £25 and are available to buy here. Food will be available to purchase on the night.

Liverpool Christmas Market is also returning to the plateau for the second year, running from 17th November to 22nd December 2017 so those eager beavers and last minute shoppers can pick up some festive trinkets and enjoy a mulled wine throughout the winter. The market will boast over 40 traditional festive style cabins dressed in garlands and lighting to create a warm festive atmosphere. On offer will be a range of hot and cold food and craft stalls.

Choose from bratwurst or gourmet burgers, as well as an array of Christmas delights including crepes and cupcakes for those with a sweet tooth. Handmade jewellery, festive decorations, slippers, scarves and edible gifts will also make perfect stocking fillers. New for this year, is a brand new Windmill Bar which will serve traditional beers, mulled wine and other festive drinks! .
