We meet former LIPA student, Frances at her favourite Liverpool Bar
Fresh from performing to a record breaking crowd on the main stage of LIMF 2016 we met former LIPA student Frances ahead of the release of her new single ‘Say It Again’. We asked Frances to choose her favourite Liverpool location for the interview and it was Hannah’s Bar that made the cut. Watch the chat and the video to her brand new single above.
In less than a year Frances has solidified herself as one of 2016’s fastest rising stars, sweeping nominations for both the esteemed Brits Critics Choice and BBC Sound of 2016 Poll. ‘Say It Again’ is the follow-up to previous acclaimed singles ‘Don’t Worry About Me’ (which amassed over three million streams on Spotify, hit Radio 1’s B List and reached #1 in Portgual on both itunes and Shazam) and the striking ‘Borrowed Time’, co-written with Howard Lawrence from Disclosure.
Frances made appearances at Coachella, The Great Escape and SxSW earlier this year, as well as performing a sold out show at KOKO in London in May as part of her UK headline tour. ’Say It Again’ is an expressively penned track with a melodic simplicity and infectious chorus that encapsulates Frances’ innate skill of setting a visual story to music. Frances’ storytelling ability breathes life into this lyrically poignant track. Speaking on the song, Frances says ‘It’s a wonderful feeling to be in love. But sometimes we all have moments where we want someone to say ‘I love you’ again, just so we can check we heard them right.’
