The magnificent hall has joined forces with DBY Interactive to present two Murder Mystery Dining Experiences during the run up to Christmas 2016 bringing you two unique and fun nights of live music, great food and entertainment.
First up is Murder in Motown on Friday, 2nd December – which tells the story of Murder In Motown through your favourite Motown hits!
You are invited to the underground launch of the next big thing! Ruby is set for stardom, but it looks like someone is not so keen for this singing sensation to take to the stage! With fame comes danger, rivals and jealousy, and, of course… murder!
From the moment of arrival, guests will be completely immersed into this bespoke dining experience. They will be met by larger than life 70s’ characters and led down into the unique dining room of the Catacombs of the world-famous St George’s Hall.
Once seated, guests can enjoy a string of their favourite Motown hits while the comical and tragic story of Ruby and her struggles in her professional and personal life gradually unfold.
This fun and energetic evening is guaranteed to have you and your party ‘Dancing in the Street’. Your guests will be able to enjoy a fantastic meal, live entertainment and have access to the new bespoke Catacombs Bar!
Next is Murder Under The Mistletoe on Friday, 9th December.
Get your glad rags on, shine those shoes and get ready to party – because you have been cordially invited to Hollywood’s 5th Annual Charity Extravaganza – helping those less fortunate this holiday season and filling them with festive cheer!
The scene is set – it’s Hollywood, 1954, and you’ll be lead along the red carpet into the dimly lit Catacombs of St George’s Hall to The Bel-Air Grand Jazz Cafe. You’ll be greeted by the paparazzi who will be looking to get a look at some of the Hollywood royalty.
The star turn, hoping to convince you all to give a little extra on this charitable evening, is a man who needs no introduction – world famous star of stage and screen Alfredo ‘Alfie’ Capeoli. He’ll be crooning for your pleasure along with some of his ‘pals’ – but – he’s a man with a past who will cast a shadow over this evening before the last dime is donated!
Featuring a host of your favourite songs from Hollywood’s golden era performed live, you’ll also be wined and dined and witness the dramatic, tragic and hysterical events unfold before your very eyes – all in this most unique of venues.
You’ll mingle with the fictional stars of the time, tap your feet to the show-tunes and throw back the odd Martini – but don’t cut loose ‘til the game is up – there’s a killer on the prowl – and it’s your job to find them!
From the creators of The Fifth Floor and Scar Award-nominated The Creep, DBY Interactive is Liverpool’s exciting new theatre company which aims to transport audiences into the heart of the experience rather than be just a mere spectator. The company was formed in 2015 by actors/creatives Rebecca brooks and James Podmore.
Rebecca explained: “We combine a range of tricks, multi-media, music, singing and special effects, so that you and your host will be immersed into the story, brought to life by a team of crafted, professional actors who will embody fantastical characters – the fate of whom belongs to YOU!
“We are proud to be able to work in collaboration with this unique building to create exciting events which are perfect for a celebration, night out, team building, hen or stag do and much more.”
St George’s Hall Manager, Alan Smith added: “Come and experience a murder mystery like no other below St George’s Hall. The catacombs were once a historical place of hiding and where Liverpool’s criminals and low lifes were kept away from society. History has sculpted this magnificent building and now it is your chance to enjoy its uniqueness!
“These events introduce a new dining experience, offering a unique package of theatre, food, entertainment and architecture in a fun and enjoyable way.”
