Liverpool mum in the running to be crowned Miss British Beauty Curve 2018
A Liverpool mum has been selected to compete in the Miss British Beauty Curve pageant as Ms Liverpool Curve 2018.
Later this year teacher and mum-of-two, Cathy Hargreaves will travel to Kent later this year, to fly the flag for plus size women as Ms Liverpool Curve 2018. The annual beauty pageant encourages young ladies and women of different shapes and sizes and from all walks of life to take part, and as an advocate of body confidence, our girl Cathy can’t wait to wow the judges with her Scouse charm.
Encouraged to take part by friends following her first modelling job last year, Cathy has her heart set on the top prize and has received support from a number of local businesses in her quest for the crown. She said: “I’ve never done anything like before, I’m so excited. I’ve been sponsored by the amazing MUMBOSSUK, which has filled me with confidence and personal trainer, Clare Mullan is supporting my pageant preparations to make sure I’m in tip top condition and feeling my best.”
It’s no secret that our Scouse girls love a good pamper and Cathy is making sure she goes into the competition looking a million dollars, she added: ” CJ in the City has kindly offered to look after my beauty treatments between now and the pageant in August, which I’m really made up about, I can’t wait to get started.”
Open to women who are a UK dress size 14+ The Miss British Beauty Curve 2018 pageant consists of three main titles, Miss, Ms and Mrs British Beauty Curve, as well as a number of prizes throughout the various rounds. Contestants are expected to have a whole wardrobe of impressive outfits as they compete for the crown in swimsuits, ball gowns and a unique Union Flag outfit, to name just a few.
Taking place on Saturday 4th August 2018, at The Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone, Kent, The British Beauty Curve 2018 pageant receives entries from all around the country, however Scouser, Cathy is one of only three Northern contestants to make the final. Utilising her skills as an educator, Cathy is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and empowering other women and girls to feel confident about their bodies.
With plans to carry her pageant knowledge forward, Cathy is keen to share her experience with other women, she said: “I’d love to be able to give talks to other women and girls about how my pageant experience has helped to build self-confidence, as a mother, teacher and plus-size woman, brimming with confidence.”
