We’ve got your Summer Playlist from the 90’s, noughties and now

We’ve had an absolutely belting weekend of good weather and it’s set to last a bit longer yet so we’ve got your summer playlist all sorted.

Everyone’s got a favourite summer track and the minute you hear it, it’s game on! BBQ’s, strapless dresses, pool slides and sunnies at the ready, it’s time to get the party started. From family get togethers to festivals and nights out, summer is our favourite time to dress down and chill. Whether you grew up in the 90’s or you’re a fully blown millennial, we’ve got a summer playlist for you!

Here’s your summer playlist from the 90’s, noughties and now.

1 – Summertime, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince

Despite being released in 1991 this summer banger from DJ Jazzy Jeff and a super cute Will Smith feels fresh every time summer rolls around. We reckon this might just be the ultimate summer track you know, it’s not summer til Jazzy Jeff says so!

2 – Sun is Shining, Bob Marley vs. Funk Star Delux

The legendary Bob Marley claimed the number 3 spot in the charts in 99 with this remix by Danish producer, Funk Star Delux. Everyone knows the lyrics, young or old, its a summertime classic and we think Bob would be genuinely chuffed that his phenomenal song-writing skills are still loved to this day!

3 – Sunshine, Umboza

The summer of 96 was a hot one, not least thanks to this little dance beauty. UK duo, Umboza taught us all a bit of Spanish as we busted some dodgy looking flamenco moves to this! In the garden, BBQ on, bevs flowing….dance off imminent!

4 – Thong Song, Sisqo

As music videos go, Sisqo certainly captured a typical summer stateside. Leather driving gloves, silver hair, body warmer, and of course a bevvy of beautiful-bikini clad women. Alright so it’s tacky as hell, but its SUCH a good tune! Plus its always hilarious when older family members get in on the sing along too.

5 – All Summer Long, Kid Rock

Ahh 2008 was such a chilled out summer, and Kid Rock released this belter. The perfect song to accompany BBQ’s in the back garden, sitting out with drinks as the sun goes down and only knowing the line about Sweet Home Alabama all summer long!

6 – Groovejet (If This Aint Love), Spiller

Number One in the UK, Ireland, Australian and New Zealand singles charts, we all went mad for Sophie Ellis Bextor’s posh vocals on this classic summer track back in 2000. Just watching the video makes us feel hot! Sweaty cab ride anyone?

7 – Sunlight, The Magician

We’re not sure if we love this summer track or the video more? You cant help but smile when you see his boss little dance moves as he struts along the beach. Who wants to book a holiday right now? Released in 2014 this will definitely be a summer classic.

8 – Despacito, Luis Fonsi

Summertime 2017 will be known as the summer of despacito for sure. Despite the fact we can only really sing along with the chorus, its a proper hip shaker that reminds us of the best holiday times, and nights in the gin gardens and terraces of the baking hot city. Ole!

9 – Waves, Mr Probz

Summer nights out always start early and this amazing track never fails to have our hands in the air swaying along before we’ve even left the beer garden. And aren’t they the best kind of summer nights? The unplanned ones where you just go with the flow…….or the waves?! Sorry.
