The Guide Liverpool

Step into the mind of Shakespeare at St George’s Hall this April

Chalice Media Limited has announced the premiere of Walking The Bard: The Shakespeare Experience which will be staged at St George’s Hall from 23 April 2016.

This Shakespearian themed guided tour will invite visitors to step inside the mind of the master playwright during this special 400th anniversary celebration and experience the darkest regions of Shakespeare’s genius in the catacombs of one of Liverpool’s most celebrated buildings.

Walking The Bard: The Shakespeare Experience tours will start on 23 April as part of the city’s St George’s Day celebrations at St George’s Hall – and appropriately, this is also the same date on which Shakespeare was born and also died. The tours will take place daily from 23 April until 28 April at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Tickets are priced at £15.

During the tour, audiences will be guided through St George’s Hall’s court room, past its holding cells and down into the catacombs.  Along the way they will encounter a mixture of memorable and much-loved comic and tragic charactersfrom Shakespeare’s legendary plays, including Ophelia, Lady Macbeth, Hamlet, Rosalind, Cleopatra and many more…

Audiences will be treated to some of Shakespeare’s most well-known speeches; such as the eternal “To be or not to be…” speech, Lady Macbeth’s “Out damned spot”, and of course… ”Something wicked this way comes!” all expertly performed by a cast of professional actors.
