If you think The Southport Flower Show is just for those with green fingers, think again!
The opening day of Southport Flower Show 2018 was full of surprises for our Jay and The Guide Liverpool cameras as the huge festival site bursts into colour for a four day celebration.
TV gardener Monty Don and Countryfile presenter Anita Rani opened Southport Flower Show today to a packed audience. Monty, who has been the face of BBC Gardeners’ World since 1993 and was recently honoured with an OBE after entertaining TV audiences for more than 25 years, has been sharing his expert growing tips with visitors.
The sun shone across the festival on Thursday as breath-taking gardens, exhibits and insightful talks and demonstrations got underway. Having checked out the biggest prosecco tent we’ve ever seen and taken a million pics of the Insta-worthy floral bandstand, our Jay caught up with legendary Granada Reports presenter, Paul Crone who is hosting the weekend alongside our very own Claire Simmo.
