The April showers have arrived with force this week, but there’s still loads of indoor family fun to be had.
We’re so lucky to have a stunning waterfront, loads of parks and beaches to explore here on Merseyside, but when the weather takes a turn for the worst, entertaining the kids can be more difficult and costly! 3 – Imagine That, Wavertree Tech Park

4 – The Yellow Sub Play Centre, Brunswick Business Park
When it comes to rainy day boredom busters, you can’t go wrong with soft play, and first up we’re heading to The Yellow Sub at the Brunswick Business Park. Easy to get to and parking just outside. Grab a table and let the kids go wild on the slides. More info here.
5 – Kids Fantasy Land, Edge Lane
The regions newest soft play centre sits right next to Liverpool Shopping Park and Edge Lane and is super handy for breaking up a shopping trip on a rainy day. There’s two big seating areas where you can watch the kids having fun and plenty of hot drinks and tasty treats too. More info online here.
6 – The British Music Experience, Cunard Building

7 – Spaceworld, Prescot
Another fab soft play area to check out is Spaceworld just off the Cables Retail Park in Prescot. There’s plenty of parking, a huge café area and not only a massive play frame but also an enclosed footy pitch and go karts too. Check it out here.

11 – Bubbles World of Play, New Brighton
A day at the seaside can be so easily scuppered with the inevitable Spring showers, but worry not. If you’re over at New Brighton simply take the fun inside at Bubbles World of Play. It’s been part of the Edge Lane set up for what feels like centuries yet Hollywood Bowl is still a firm favourite with families looking for some indoor fun that doesn’t break the bank. Sefton Park is a fab place to take a welly walk, scoot about on bikes and skates and enjoy an ice cream, but when the April Showers come down, you may want to retreat to the Palm House and join in some of the various activities including family yoga, concerts and parties with Jumping Jacks.
