16 Liverpool May Bank Holiday events to check out this weekend
Bank holiday in the sunshine? Yes please! OK so we are expecting a few showers early on Saturday but other than that it’s looking good.
Of course it has been a dreadful week not just here in the North West but across the UK and in fact across the planet, whatever you are up to, enjoy every second and make some boss memories with loved ones courtesy of our great city and region.

So let’s do this – your guide to late may bank holiday on Merseyside…
1 – Family Fun and cute dogs at New Brighton Seaside Festival
One for all the family! Start your Bank Holiday weekend with some seaside fun in New Brighton. With disco’s, doggie parades, unicorns, alpacas, live music, great local food and drinks. Tickets and more info here.
2 – Sound City 2017 celebrates its 10th Birthday and you’re invited
The long-awaited return of Sound City kicks off on Thursday evening as The Human League take to the stage at the festival’s new home for 2017, Liverpool Waters, Clarence Dock. Full line-up and tickets here.
3 – Get down to the Caribbean Reggae Yard Party at 24 Kitchen Street
Get some twerking practise in before heading down to 24 Kitchen Street for it’s Caribbean reggae party. With traditional food, rum punch and a whole load of dancehall, all ages are welcome from 2pm. Find out more here.
4 – Explore Hidden Histories and more at Albert Dock
Albert Dock Liverpool has developed and launched an exciting new digital heritage trail app, that will take visitors on a tour to unearth fascinating secrets about the Dock that have been hidden until now. Find out more here.
5 – Lace up or look out for the Liverpool Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon
Whether you’re lacing up, painting banners or simply rocking out to Republica, the 4th annual Liverpool Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series returns to the city this weekend and there’s tonnes of entertainment along the 26 mile route. All the info here.
6 – Fancy a little Afternoon Delight with the Brekkie Butler?
Cocktails in caravans, dancing on hedges, Picnic benches ,zoo project face painters and some wacky entertainers for this Indoor Garden party, it could only be Breakfast Butler Events presents Afternoon Delight at Camp & Furnace. Table bookings and full line up here.
7 – Experience the Luminarium at Liverpool One
Our luck may have run out when it comes to the weather by Bank Holiday Monday, so why not shelter inside a giant rainbow at Liverpool One? The Luminarium visits Chavasse Park for just three days and you’re invited to explore this vast chasm and it’s spectrum of colours. Info and tickets here.
8 – It’s all about Bermuda Day at Constellations, Baltic Triangle
Constellations are throwing a huge party on Saturday from 12pm to celebrate all things Bermuda! This family-fun day will be packed with live music, arts & crafts, awesome entertainment and traditional Bermudian treats. Its free entry all day long too! More info here.
9 – Vibe La Carnival! Mardi Gras kicks off at Revolucion De Cuba, Albert Dock
Bright plastic beads a the ready, its Mardi Gras time at Revolucion De Cuba this weekend. With specialists cocktails, samba dancers, live music, face painting and food and drink samples, who could resist the spirit of New Orleans!? More info here.
10 – Whatever you fancy to eat you’ll find it on Bold Street
Dining out this weekend? Why not try a wealth of world cuisine, all in one street? So the footy season is over but there’s a tonne of other sporting events to get behind this weekend.
