When it comes to keeping the kids occupied during the summer holidays in Liverpool, we’re aiming for maximum fun for minimum spend. From days at the beach and running about in the park, to family fun days, summer fairs and learning new skills, we’ve got 65 events, activities and boredom busting ideas to try out this school holidays.
If all that wasn’t enough, Arriva has launched a brand new teen m-ticket, taking the sting out of summer travel for parents. For just £20, kids under 16 can enjoy unlimited travel for 5 whole weeks. 1 – Summer of Champions, Liverpool ONE
Shopping, family dining and free family activities are the name of the game at Liverpool ONE this summer. Check out the sporting activities and live music line up here.
2 – The Ultimate Brick Safari, Knowsley
The UK’s Biggest Ever LEGO® brick safari arrives at Knowsley Safari on 20th July. The collection of 82 life-size LEGO® brick animals will be joining the real animals including Amur Tigers, giraffes, meerkats, bush dogs and wolves. More here.
3 – Shaun The Sheep at Farmer Teds
Farmer Teds, Ormskirk is the only farm attraction in the UK to have the Shaun the Sheep attractions in permanent residence. Themed activities include Bitzer’s Kinetic Club House, reaction game Hog Splash, and navigation challenge Moley Moley. Mossy Bottom Crafts encourages visitors’ creativity with craft activities. 5 – BBC Summer Social
BBC Summer Social is back for 2019 offering an even bigger and better line-up at Croxteth Park on 3rd and 4th August 2019. this year’s festival will see the likes of pop icons Busted, Nina Nesbitt, John Newman, Freya Ridings, and many of the kids’ favourite characters and attractions. More here.
6 – Liverpool Indoor Funfair
The Indoor Funfair returns to Exhibition Centre Liverpool from 23rd August until 1st September 2019. With more than 20 attractions all under one roof and affordable wrist bands, this is a great ‘whatever the weather’ day out idea. More here.

12 – Pirate Party, Sefton Park Palm House

A day of super fun bushcraft skills & exciting nature games awaits at Claremont Farm Wirral this summer. Open all summer long for you little (and not to little) adrenalin junkies, Rampworx Skatepark, Aintree offers an amazing landscape set to test and thrill young skaters. There’s bookable one to one sessions to build confidence and special guest appearances from the pro’s. More here.
56 – Merseyside Parks
As parents and carers, we all know the easiest way to entertain the kids for a few hours, is a trip to the park. Merseyside has so much green space we could go to a different destination every day for a week and not get bored! Sticking with parks, have you been to Jungle Parc at Croxteth Hall and Country Park yet? Plan a visit this summer holidays in Liverpool. Kids age 4 and above can get to grips with (not so high) ropes and build their confidence where as kids aged 10 and above can get into the tree tops to test their balance and nerve! More here.

Did you know Blue planet Aquarium is the home of Europe’s largest collection of sharks? Did you also know you’re invited to dine with them this summer? Summer holidays in Liverpool always involve a little trip out to North Wales, it’s practically the law! This summer make sure you stop off at Greenacres Animal Park, near Chester. More than 80 acres of land is home to a petting zoo where lots of exotic animals, reptiles and domestic animals reside. There’s also fun fair rides and tasty hot and cold food on offer too. Just like our amazing parks, Merseyside is blessed with mile upon mile of coastline and when it comes to a cheap but fun day out during the summer holidays, you can’t go wrong at the beach. Why not take a walk out to Hilbre Island from West Kirby, climb on board the Black Pearl at New Brighton and of course, get your sun glasses on an iron man in Crosby for the ultimate selfie.
