From themed dining to juggling acrobats, piratey pop music and crafts, everything’s looking ship shape at Pirates on the Dock!
Here’s 8 things your kids will love at Pirates on the Dock 2018…….
1 – Return of the Phoenix
Ship Ahoy! Having starred in Poldark and Dr Who, the stunning two mast brig, Phoenix returns to Pirates on the Dock to take her place in the middle of the dock where she’ll protect her precious cargo, the Queen of the Mersey, Mermaid Megan! Make sure you bag a good spot to watch the live canon battle at 2:30pm.
2 – Mr Smee’s Children’s Show
Head to Hartley Quay at 4pm on both days and check out Mr Smee’s Children’s Show presented by Steve Royle. Straight from the classic tale, Peter Pan, we’ll be following the leader and keeping our eyes peeled for Captain Hook!
3 – Jaw Dropping Drumming
Adding a truly carnival feel to the dockside festival, the Batala Drummers return to perform live at the Martin Luther King Jnr Building, inner Royal Albert Dock Quay and Car Park A from 11:45am.
4 – Breakfast with Pirates at Gusto
Book your place at the Captain’s table at Gusto and enjoy breakfast with the pirates on Sunday 16th September 2018 for a swashbuckling start to your day on the dock.
5 – Treasure Hunt
Take on the Pirates on the Dock Treasure Hunt for your chance to win a meal for 4 at The Smuggler’s Cove. Seek out the 10 boards around the dock and follow the clues to win!
6 – Make Way for the Segway
You’ve seen pirates on boats and ships, you’ve likely seen pirates walking the plank and taking a dip too, but have you ever seen a pirate on a Segway? Keep your eyes peeled for Aargh Pirate on a Segway careering around the dock.
7 – Mermaids on Parade
The Mermaid Parade is also back, and visitors are encouraged to dress up in their best pirate and mermaid costumes to impress the beautiful Megan as she makes her regal procession around Royal Albert Dock Liverpool
8 – Family Fun at Maritime Museum
Head over to the Merseyside Maritime Museum from 1pm-4pm and get the kids involved with story time, face painting, arts and crafts and live music.
