The best of River Mersey Fest & Armed Forces Day 2017 celebrations
From Royal visits to Red Arrows, we’ve got all the best of the action from the Armed Forces Day 2017 celebrations on our iconic waterfront.
Thousands of people hit our waterfront this weekend not only to experience the best of our International Mersey River Festival but also to pay homage and say thankyou to our incredible armed forces for Armed Forces Day 2017.
Both events were free to attend and kicked off on Saturday when our veterans and service men & women took to our streets for a very special parade through the city, starting at St George’s Hall. As well as that military vessels, displays and workshops took place on the Pier Head and Princes Parade. Whilst on the Albert Dock the Mersey River Fest was in full swing with fly boarding, wake boarders, water polo displays, tall ships and even mermaids on procession.
