Two weeks of family animation in and around St George’s Quarter
Liverpool – April 11, 2017
The full programme for the first Big History Festival is revealed today, giving families the unique opportunity to unlock the hidden secrets of Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Quarter during the Easter holidays – kick-starting on World Heritage Day (April 18) right through to April 30.
Formerly called the St George’s Day Festival, The Big History Festival takes place in and around the stunning St George’s Hall and World Museum, celebrating the rich heritage of this historic area with fascinating, brand new exhibitions, talks, heritage walks, and workshops for people of all ages to enjoy.
Among the many highlights at The Big History Festival include the rare unveiling of one of the city’s greatest treasures, the Minton-tiled floor at St George’s Hall, plus the reopening of World Museum’s new-look Ancient Egypt: A journey through time gallery, following an 18-month major refurbishment.
