The Biggest Events of 2015 in 3 Minutes

We are currently looking at the best of the musicians of 2015, the musicians that have graced the many stages of the best city of the world. And now an official city of music certified by UNESCO. We’ve put together the biggest and best events of the year to take you on a walk through of 2015.

This year saw Sefton Park taken over by the biggest free music festival in Europe. We’re talking LIMF 2015, headlined by Echo and the Bunnymen, Labrinth and of course Basement Jaxx.

2015 also saw Sound City move for the first time to it’s new home on Bramley Moore Dock. What a weekend it was! The Flaming Lips, The Vaccines, Belle and Sebastian, and plenty of amazing local music as well. We were there all weekend filming at the Titanic Hotel. We had everybody from Bill Ryder-Jones, Stealing Sheep and Johnny Sands, all chatting to us on the show. And we cannot wait until the end of May when Sound City returns.

But some other incredible festivals took over Liverpool…

We had Threshold Festival, celebrating the best in grass roots music. Which of course returns this April, taking over the Baltic Quarter once again and celebrating the best in Liverpool’s local talent.

Farm Feast happened back in May. Taking over Claermont Farm, some of the best music of the area including a stunning performance from The Farm.

Back in September, the city put on a very special concert at the Echo Arena – With Love From Liverpool. Some of the biggest names from Liverpool music and comedy got together to raise money for the Red Cross and the Syrian refugees. Hosted by John Bishop we had performances from Lawson, Space, MiC Lowry, John Power and The Christians.

Merseyrail Sound Station saw an incredible music festival in a train station! Some of the best of local talent competed on the stage, however the incredible Katy Alex came out victor for 2015.

So that was our year in music and 2016 is going to be even bigger! Don’t forget that LIMF has moved dates, now happening at the end of July. Sound City returns, as does Psych Fest, Liverpool Soul Fest… and we expect great things from some of the musicians we’ve been shouting about in 2015. We’re quite sure 2016 is going to be their year!
