Burn photos of your ex this Valentine’s at Camp and Furnace
Got an ex you’d like to forget this Valentine’s? Camp and Furnace can help!
Known for its unorthodox style of events, Liverpool’s Camp and Furnace has come up with alternative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day – by destroying pictures of your ex!
The ‘Burn Your Ex – Anti-Valentine’s Disco’ takes place at Greenland Street on Saturday 17th February, and will feature tongue-in-cheek burning ceremonies, where event-goers can bring along a photo of an ex-partner, shout ‘I’m over it!’ and cast it into the flames of the original Edwardian furnace, from which the venue takes its name.
To help with the heart-ache, there’s a free ‘Over it’ shot for the first fifty people that bring photos with them to burn.
As well as the ceremonies they’ll be a confessional booth where clubbers can confess their darkest secrets and stories to the event’s judgemental ‘priest,’ plus a wall of shame where toe-curling shaming stories can be left, as well as a punch bag for venting any deep-rooted frustrations!
Music at the event comes from DJs, and the resident Furnace Band, who’ll be playing all the appropriate break-up tracks including ‘Shout Out To My Ex,’ ‘All The Single Ladies’ and the ultimate anti-Valentine’s anthem ‘I Will Survive.’
A Camp and Furnace spokesperson commented:
‘It sounds like we’re being a bit grumpy, but we’re all a bit fed up with the sugary-sweet side to Valentine’s, and thought it was the perfect opportunity for people to demonstrate that they were over a past relationship.
We’ve all cut an ex’s head out of photograph – wishing to forget them, so we’ve gone one step further by putting on a night that celebrates being ‘over it’ and getting on with your life.”
Tickets to the Anti-Valentine’s Disco at 10.00pm on Saturday 17th February are priced at £3-5 (+fee) and available from Skiddle from 23rd January 2018.
