Charles Dickens Crimbo Classic will be brought to life at Grand Central Hall this year

You can’t get more Chrismassy than ‘A Christmas Carol’ can you?

Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story of Christmas is brought to the stage by Adenuf Productions in a thrilling new version.  Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future will appear at the Grand Central Hall on Renshaw Street in Liverpool from the 17th to the 23rd of December.  What’s more, in a treat for all the family, adult tickets are only £10 and kids are just £5!

There are matinees at 3pm on Saturday the 17th, Sunday the 18th, and Friday the 23rd of December.  Evening shows are at 8pm.  The show is told in two acts with a short interval.  Total running time is about an hour and a half and doors open half an hour before the performance time.

Scrooge is played by Paul Codman, with the fabulous Lenny Wood as Bob Cratchit, and local legend James McMartin plays the ghosts, as well as a fabulous supporting cast of professional actors.

The 800-seater venue, the Grand Central Hall, is at 35 Renshaw Street, L1 2SF, in the centre of Liverpool.  It’s domed ceiling, main hall, and auditorium provide a magnificent setting for this much-loved tale.

Adenuf Productions are a local theatre company.  Previous productions include Adolf in Toxteth, The Mole of Edge Hill, and Frankenstein at the Bombed Out Church.  A Christmas Carol is our largest festive production, and follows our theme for period pieces such as Great Expectations, which was performed in Liverpool in August of this year and the Shelley Theatre in Bournemouth in September.

Liverpool writer Ian Carroll has penned an original version of A Christmas Carol in a script that is sure to delight local audiences.  The stage play remains true to the original story, while including a few extra bits to make the most of this talented cast.

This is the best value Christmas show in town.  We have a fantastic set, a magnificent venue, and a spine-tingling ghost story to feast upon.  With kids tickets at £5 and adults at £10, it’s a show that the whole family can get to and can enjoy.  Tickets are available in advance at or, as we are such a large venue, you can probably pay on the door.  Merry Christmas, one and all!
