Comedy in Liverpool: 10 hilarious stand-ups coming to town in 2017
It’s going to be a huge year for Comedy in Liverpool!
Our city will become the comedy capital this year as a whole host of international names make their way to the north west to join a wealth hilarious local stand-ups who love nothing more than to have us rocking in our seats.
Here’s 10 comedy acts coming to Liverpool this year that we can’t wait to see!
1 – Jack Whitehall: At Large
Kicking off a huge year for comedy in Liverpool, multi award-winning stand up Jack Whitehall is bringing his new live show At Large to the Echo Arena on 5th February following a hugely busy and successful year starring in Bad Education and A League of Their Own. 2 – Jimmy Carr: The Best of, Ultimate, Greatest Hits, Gold Tour
QUICK: British Comedy Award winning stand-up Jimmy Carr has added an extra date to his ultimate tour at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, due to huge demand. 3 – Omid Djalili
The Auditorium at the Echo Arena is gearing up to host comedian and actor Omid Djalili for the Liverpool leg of his nationwide tour on 25th March 2017. 4 – Russell Howard: Round The World
Russell Howard returns to the live stage for the first time in three years and his Liverpool gig is going to be phenomenal. 5 – Sam Avery and Keith Carter as Nige at Laughterhouse Comedy
We absolutely love our Liverpool comedy venues, and the Laughterhouse Comedy club on Fenwick Street is one of the best around. A really intimate venue, audience participation is usually on the cards as comics from around the country try out their best routines. 6 – Paul Tonkinson at The Albert Dock
Paul Tonkinson joins Compere Jess Fostekew at Comedy Central, Albert Dock on May 27th with support from comics Adam Staunton and Steve Harris. 7 – Micky Flanagan: An Another Fing Tour
Well September just got awesome! One of the UK’s biggest names in comedy, Micky Flanagan is bringing his ‘An Another Fing’ tour to Liverpool on September 19th for two nights of raucous stand-up. This follows his record-breaking “Back In The Game” tour of 2013 which took in an incredible 129 shows and sold in excess of 500,000 tickets! 8 – Milton Jones is out there!
The king of wacky comedy, Milton Jones is “Out There” and heading straight for the Echo Arena with his hysterical observations on real life, politics and fashion this October. Milton will be talking about his life so far, the ups, the downs and why buying his own see-saw was the best decision he ever made! 9 – John Bishop: Winging It
A stalwart of comedy in Liverpool, our very own scouse superstar, John Bishop makes his long awaited return to stand-up with his brand new live show ‘Winging It’ this October. John will play 3 dates this Autumn (Oct 20th-22nd) and is looking forward to getting back on stage following a three year break. The Philharmonic Hall is hosting a pre Christmas treat as Jon Richardson brings his Old Man tour to Liverpool in December.
