Following last years incredible switch on event, the team at Liverpool ONE have been working around the clock to produce an even bigger and better spectacle.

With so much to see and do, we’ve put together this handy guide to the Liverpool ONE Christmas Switch on…
When & Where
The festivities start on Thursday 9th November from 4pm with entertainment spread right across the streets of Liverpool ONE. The Christmas Tree and lights switch show begins at 6pm so make sure you’re in a good spot.
The lighting of the tree is just one part of the switch on fun. From 4pm you can see lots of street theatre performances from quirky characters including the Christmas Belles, 7ft tall robins, jumping presents and more as you make your way towards Paradise Street.
Liverpool ONE has also brought some of the city’s celebrity panto stars to the Christmas light switch on event with very special performances from huge names in theatre. Expect to see the stars of Aladdin, Peter Pan, Wicked, The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid as our city venues lend us their panto dames and baddies for one evening only. South John Street will come alive with the sound of laughter, oh yes it will, until 8pm, who will you see? Click here for full listings.
If all that wasn’t enough you and your little ones can enjoy Christmas on the Park as Chavasse Park bursts into life with thrilling rides and a festive carnival atmosphere. Parents can join in or hang back to enjoy the mulled wine, bratwurst, hot chocolate and more traditional Christmas treats. Rides and attractions are open from 11am-8pm, 9pm on Friday and Saturday. And we’re not done yet! Liverpool ONE is bringing back the famous Bar Hütte, situated right underneath the colossal 30m high Christmas tree, you can truly get into the festival spirit in these alpine themed huttes. Sing Along for Santa
Once the tree is lit and the evening is in full swing, warm up with a tipple at Bar Hütte. We bet you’ll still be singing the special Liverpool ONE song created especially for the switch on moment (it’s so catchy!). Written especially for the tree and lights switch on, ‘Waiting for Christmas to Arrive’ written by Paul Lawton, will see the cities voice ring out as one to help free Santa from a tight spot! Check out the lyrics and get practising here.
