This year Liverpool Loves is set to be the ultimate feel good festival, with a real focus on families and well-being.

Just in time for the school summer holidays, the main festival day takes places at the Pier Head on Saturday 6th August and is free to attend, open to all; featuring lots of family friendly, fun-packed activities for everyone to enjoy.

Liverpool Loves The Guide

The kids’ programme kicks off at 11am at Fun Food Chef Tent. Your little chefs can cook up a treat during cooking and tasting workshops. With multiple sessions running throughout the day, children can learn about world cultures through cooking! Pat Oakes, The Fun Food Chef, promotes healthy eating across the North West through fun, inspiring and educational workshops for all. Workshops are free – just register on arrival.

There will be clowning around all day in the Well-being Area. Join Free Fall Circus on its 6m high aerial trapeze and learn silks, hoop and rope and trapeze, as well as diablo, juggling and circus skills. Or have a go at some fancy footwork at the interactive kids dance workshops with AJ Dance at The Terrace!

Bring your budding musicians to The Big Love Tent at 1pm for HeartBeat Drumming where they can take part in a drum circle, a free-form drumming event which is entirely improvised, in-the-moment music making. This great taster session is an exciting introduction to music and great fun for kids! Instruments are provided, just register on Event Bright and turn up on the day.

Book worms will be pleased to know The Readers Org will be at the Well-being Area. Story sharers from The Storybarn will drop in during the festival for a spot of family storytelling and craft activities.

Let your little ones have a go at relaxing and calming yoga with Yoga Bears from the Liverpool Yoga Centre, from 12.30pm to 1pm at The Culturebox Terrace. Leaning yoga can help children to stay strong, supple and emotionally centered for their entire life. Yoga Bears classes provide playtime with purpose; fantastic fun that enables children of all ages and abilities to improve their fitness levels, concentration, mood, social skills and much more.

Explore Learning will deliver new ways of learning with games based around maths and phonics which help children to learn to read and spell, all with a fun and energetic twist – in the Well-being Area.

Join the Russell Kirk Dragon Trail and marvel at his larger than life parade puppets. Or try your hand at Wheelchair Basketball and lots of exciting sporting activities with the Greenbank Sports Academy.

Liverpool School of Cantonese Kung Fu will perform karate demonstrations, kids’ workshop and a spectacular Lion dance across the festival site!

And there will be all the fun of the fair, with lots of fairground rides for little ones to enjoy – from swing boats to bungee trampolines and much more.

The Liverpool Loves Festival Day is the climax of the three-day long, award-winning event, organised by Orb CIC – a Liverpool-based social enterprise with a strong proven track record in staging major city events and festivals.
