Get a free place in the Arriva Scouse 5k and support Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation
It’s just a matter of weeks until the city is overrun with a rainbow of scouse wigs and you can join in for free.
Back for another brilliant, family friendly fundraiser, the Arriva Scouse 5k takes place on 28th October, Halloween weekend and starts at the Bombed Out Church. This year, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is said to be ‘made up’ to have been chosen as the official charity partner and is offering free places in the 5k event for a minimum £50 sponsorship per runner.
Last year thousands of people and loads of cute dogs, donned their wigs and turned the sleepy Sunday streets into one huge rainbow of bobbing scouse wigs, all determined to get their glittery medal at the finish line. So far the oldest competitor taking on the family-friendly race is 77 and the youngest is just 1! If they can do it, so can you!
All you need to do to get your free charity place for this years event, is email firstname.lastname@example.org and pledge to raise the £50 minimum sponsorship. The foundation will then send you need to get registered and get fundraising, as well as a Roy’s Runners vest with iron on letters so you can personalise it too.
The Liverpool city centre 5k route is flat and takes in all the sights from the Georgian Quarter, shopping streets, Town Hall and Business District, fly over and of course, Mathew Street too, don’t forget to grab a selfie with John and Cilla on your way round. So whether you plan to leg it, peg it, dance, jog or even moon walk your way the city streets, it’s accessible, filled with fun and a great laugh….(plus you get to keep your wig too!).
