Your Guide to Bank Holiday Weekend in and around Liverpool
It’s official, bank holiday weekend is finally here…..and have we got a stellar line up for you!
From comedy and bingo to pirates and barrels of rum and not one, not two….but FIVE music festivals right on your door step, there’s no definitely no reason to settle for a quiet one this weekend. Here’s our top 10 local events.
Fever Festival – Croxteth Park is preparing a humongous circus tent and filling it with the best classic dance hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s this weekend. The ticketed event is over 18’s only and takes place on Sunday 28th August from 2pm-11pm. Featuring some heavy weight Dj’s such as Garlands legend, Dave Booth, former Juice FM jock, Thomas Tuft and Liverpool’s own Mark Armstrong, you’d be mad to miss this! Folk Festival on The Dock – Making its debut at the Albert Dock this weekend, Folk Festival on the Dock is set to feature more than 100 folk performances, choirs, sea shanties and tonnes of craft sessions for the kids. As well as a varied line-up there’s a whole host of unusual venues taking part too, check out ‘Folk By The Minute’ at Ziferblat for a unique way to take in a gig. Family Summer Garden Party – Stanley Park will be a hive of activity again this Sunday as The Isla Gladstone Conservatory and Bandstand holds its Family Summer Garden Party. This free event has loads of free activities for children of all ages including face-painting, screen printing, arts and crafts, live music and storytelling. Comedy Queen Sarah Millican – On tour with her fourth stand-up show ‘Outsider’, Sarah Millican will have audiences in stitches at the Echo Arena this weekend. Club Launch: Anthemic A new state of the art nightclub launches this Saturday, dedicated to the most spine- tingling house and old school club classics. Anthemic is located on Victoria Street and is set to bring a new clubbing experience to the city. Check out our video clip as Lee Butler took a first look of the brand new venue here.
Rum Ahoy: Man’s Ruin Bar Brand new maritime themed bar, Man’s Ruin will be unveiled on Thursday 25th August and aims to provide a new dimension to the city’s bar scene by combining the look and feel of a pirate ship with some seriously inventive mixology! Take a look inside here.
Red Door: A Summer Spritz Celebrate Bank Holiday in style as Red Door host their third and final Aperol Spritz party on their (hopefully) sun-drenched terrace. With 2-4-1 Aperol Spritz between 3pm-7pm along with live music and a kick-ass BBQ to keep you going until the early hours. Watch The Hummingbirds perform at Red Door here.
Bongo’s Bingo Bank Holiday Saturday Special Sunday session tickets sold out in record time for Bongo’s Bingo, so Camp & Furnace have spread the love and stuck a Saturday one on too! Treasure Island at the Botanical Gin Garden Championing sounds, fusions and influences of music styles from different backgrounds and eras, featuring Beaten Tracks, Phil Charnock, Bernie Connor plus loads more. Top of the Mooring – Pier Gardens The Pier Gardens will be awash with Irish music this Sunday afternoon with a free event for all the family.
