Guide Live: This is your Chinese New Year and weekend what’s on round up for Liverpool

Firecrackers, dragon parades, light shows and lots of amazing food, this is your weekend in Liverpool.

We’re celebrating the Year of the Pig in China Town for today’s Guide Live. All the fun begins at 7pm tonight with the first showing of the brand new projection light show, ‘The Quest for the Arch’. The phenomenal light show tells the story of Jing Wei and her new friend Piggy as they journey to the west and is a treat for the whole family. Full Chinese New Year Guide here. 

There’s a whole programme of events taking place across the weekend, including a market and crafts at the Bombed Out Church,  a family festival with pizza making at Red Door and Royal Albert Dock are treating visitors to personalised fortune cookies, some of which hold fantastic gifts from a wealth of dock stores, bars and restaurants. There’s a brand new festival coming to Formby this summer. L37 Fest, a three day music extravaganza has just announced Bongo’s Bingo as it’s Friday night headliner, with two more to come. Keep your eyes peeled for more info soon.
