Monday 20th February

Celeb Spotting on the Waterfront

The BBC World Showcase is the world’s largest international television market hosted by a single distributor, and will welcome a spectacular range of talent to its flagship event right here in Liverpool from 19th-22nd Feb. Among the stars lined up to attend are Gary Barlow, Dannii Minogue and Mel Giedroyc from hit prime-time show Let it Shine, actor Ed Westwick (White Gold), Top Gear presenter Matt LeBlanc and Absolutely Fabulous stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley. Sea the Stars in Blackpool

Fancy a day trip? Why not head up the coast to Blackpool? Sea Life Blackpool has just announced a very special new attraction, Sea Stars and you’re invited to get up close and personal with a variety of fascinating starfish species. Housed in a range of impressive displays creating an ocean of dazzling stars, giant windows ensure fantastic visibility and visitors can get a close up view and discover the pop up bubbles and peek-a-boo holes in the attraction. Children’s TV Legends come to Warrington

Your Guide Liverpool and nostaglia go together like Sooty and Sweep and that’s pretty handy seeing as those two cheeky rascals are heading this way! Izzy, wizzy, let’s get busy, because the nation’s favourite TV bear Sooty is bringing his friends to Warrington’s Parr Hall this month for a fun-packed show. The hugely popular children’s character and his friends Sweep and Soo are back for two shows on Tuesday 21 February with guaranteed giggles for all the family. Get your tickets here.

Half Term Fun at the VGM

Your Guide Liverpool loves a bit of culture during the holidays and we’re heading to meet scientists from the University of Liverpool at the Victoria Gallery and Museum this Thursday to find out about some amazing animals! They’ll be lots of hands-on activities and experiments suitable for children of all ages, and there’s plenty to do for adults too! It’s totally free events and no booking required. More info here.

Jazz in the City

The 2017 festival opens this Thursday at 7pm, with a set from MOBO award-winners Sons of Kemet. Kinetic, earth-shaking and always electrifying, the group features four of the UK jazz scene’s brightest stars. Led by saxophonist, clarinettist and ‘BBC New Generation Artist’ Shabaka Hutchings, their line-up includes Theon Cross and both Seb Rochford and Tom Skinner on drums. More info here.

Journey to Narnia

Head to St Georges Hall for the Narnia Experience, brought to life by Crosby-based community theatre charity In Another Place, the company also behind 2016’s hugely successful production, The Alice Experience. Visitors are invited to step through the enchanted wardrobe where they will discover a wintery forest scene and whisked to the magical land of Narnia. Roll Up and Brick Up

Dave Kirby and Nicky Allt’s Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels has run at Liverpool’s Royal Court six times since its debut in 2006. The two writers have come back together to write a new show that begins the day after the first show finishes. With the original having sold more than 175,000 tickets over the years, the theatre are looking forward to giving Brick Up fans something new to get their teeth into.
