Hilton Liverpool City Centre announces partnership to launch £10k charity giveaway
To celebrate ten glorious years in the city, Liverpool’s favourite hotel, the Hilton (City Centre) has teamed up with the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People, Metro Merseyside and us here at The Guide to offer a range of worthy causes a share in a massive £10K charity giveaway.
The initiative, which has been designed to help improve the health and well being of young people across Merseyside, is running for ten days with applications for a share of the grant closing on Sunday 30th July.
The Hilton are encouraging local charities, schools, clubs and non-profit organisations to pitch for a share of the money which is designed to help organisations with tight resources, that work hard to improve the lives of young people in local communities.
The DM Thomas Foundation for Young People is committed to transforming the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged young people in communities across the UK. By providing specialist equipment and facilities, important training and support, and vital care, the Foundation aim to help young people achieve their full potential.
Through its local Giveaways, the Foundation has awarded over £400,000 to 354 charities across the UK to support their work with young people. Outdoor learning, arts and crafts materials, travel costs, sports equipment, specialist equipment, therapy and cancer care, refurbishments and resource packs have all been funded through previous Giveaways, enabling more than 74,400 young people to benefit.
The Foundation is partnering with supporters at Hilton Liverpool City Centre to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people in the hotel’s local community.
Marcus Magee, General Manager at Hilton Liverpool City Centre said: “Our partnership with Merseyside’s Metro newspaper, The Guide Liverpool and the Foundation enables our team members. Having been so instrumental in raising these funds it’s great for them to see the impact that they can have in our local community.”
Simon Sheehan, Director of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People said: “Our Giveaways enable us to reach small clubs and groups working with young people who wouldn’t normally approach us or support. They undertake amazing work and provide young people with the opportunities to shine, make new friends and follow their passions, so it’s important that we help them.”
