You need to experience a Puffle Waffle on the Albert Dock
An exciting new, independent street food concept has opened its doors at Albert Dock Liverpool and our Jay went along to check it out – watch the video above.
Puffle Waffle will introduce Liverpool to Hong Kong’s most popular takeaway delicacy – a delicious egg waffle cone filled with little pockets housing all manner of wacky and wonderful flavours, from Italian gelato, to modern fusions like the super-sized, Super Massive Meatball (strictly for the hungriest of foodies!). Whether you have a sweet tooth or you’re a savoury-seeker, there’s a Puffle Waffle waiting for you!
The brainchild of Liverpool entrepreneur and managing director, Kenneth Cheung, Puffle Waffle will be located at Anchor Courtyard at Albert Dock.
Ahead of the opening, Kenneth said:
“All I can say is that once you taste a Puffle Waffle, you will never forget it! Imagine the tastiest waffle of your life – made fresh to order, crispy and soft in equal measure, shareable and bitesize. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a visit to the fantastic Albert Dock.”
Speaking about the inspiration for the idea, Kenneth explained:
“As a child growing up in Hong Kong, this was the everyday street food of choice – and it continues to be the top-selling street food there to this day. It is our mission to share the Puffle Waffle experience with the people of Liverpool.
“The concept has popped up in other parts of the world, but we are unique in the fact that we use an age-old, traditional recipe that was created by my late grandfather, Sau Cheung, who was a successful restauranteur in Hong Kong for most of his life. This, combined with our unusual flavourings, makes for a unique culinary experience to suit all palates.”
Puffle Waffle at Albert Dock will open on Saturday, October 21, with a special Buy One Get One Free offer for every customer and a friend (who must be present!), running throughout the October half term until Saturday, October 28.
The café is the latest independent to set up shop at Albert Dock, following the likes of Leather Satchel Co., and more recently, Dock Art. It is all part of the strategic reinvention of the retail and leisure offer of Albert Dock, led by the developer, Aberdeen Asset Management, with more landmark lettings on the cusp of being announced and further exciting discussions in advanced negotiations.
