James Bulger Memorial Trust teams up with the Santa Bus to deliver over 500 gifts
The James Bulger Memorial Trust has today delivered presents to some local organisations and families they have helped in the past with free holidays and respite breaks at the James Bulger House.
With the help of one of the charities Amabassadors Philip Olivier who helped bring the Liverpool City Sights Santa Bus, the charity delivered over 500 presents to the Kirkby town centre toy appeal and another local charity O.L.L.Y.
Denise Fergus said “With the help of our Ambassadors who helped collect presents and a lady called Vaughny Redmond who runs the shoebox appeal and Cal Jones at Rent A Space who wanted to help our charity we have been able to collect a lot more presents to help the underprivileged children in Knowsley and Liverpool.”
She continued “To see the children’s faces makes all the hard work worth while, and to know that these children and their families would be waking up to no presents on Christmas day is so concerning. So with the help of some amazing people in Merseyside we have been able to hand out presents with a minimum value of £5000.”
The presents that were handed out were not just toys there was also toiletries and clothing in there too.
The James Bulger Memorial Trust next aim is to upgrade the James Bulger House from the static caravan they own to a large lodge that will then be able to accommodate families with wheelchair users and larger families.
