Kings of Leon will play Sefton Park this Summer for Fusion Presents
Yes you read that headline right, Kings of Leon are playing live in Sefton Park this Summer in what will be one of the biggest gigs the city has ever seen.
Fusion Presents will take over Sefton Park on Friday 30th August, and it will be headlined by rock superstars Kings of Leon who will be performing a UK festival exclusive set in the heart of Liverpool.
They will be supported by a stellar line up of talent including Franz Ferdinand, Echo & The Bunnymen and BRIT award winning artist Sam Fender; with more to be announced.
The band last played Liverpool in 2017 with frontman Caleb telling the Liverpool Arena audience “It’s so good to be in Liverpool, we’ve been trying to check out some stuff today. It’s a beautiful place, you’re all very lucky.”
They have headlined Glastonbury, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds and have sold over 18 million albums worldwide, firmly placing them as one of the biggest bands on the planet.
Famous fans include our very own Sir Paul Mccartney who once claimed Kings of Leon’s music was better than The Beatles back in the height of their fame.
Fusion Presents Event Director Damien Sanders said: “Liverpool has always been a city with strong music heritage and we’ve wanted to launch a new event for the last couple of years. The biggest challenge has been finding the right artist for the job. We’re over the moon that we were able to secure one of the world’s most successful rock bands to launch Fusion Presents and we cannot wait to see them perform in our new home, Sefton Park.”
In the past three years Fusion Festival has been based on Otterspool Prom and has seen the likes of David gutta, Take That, Little Mix and Jason Derulo headline the festival.
