LIMF 2018 just got a whole lot BIGGER!

The Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) returns in 2018 on July 21st and 22nd and today the festival has announced more huge names taking to its Sefton Park stages.

LIMF is a grand-scale celebration of the city’s rich musical history, diversity and continued relevance, and is one of the highlights of the Liverpool 2018 programme which marks ten years since the city’s game-changing year as European Capital of Culture.

LIMF TV will once again take you backstage and behind the scenes of the festival hosted by our very own Jay Hynd and Kate Reilly James, whilst Jay will also be hosting Central Stage across the two days of the festival.

Lineup additions include Ray BLK who will be gracing the Main Stage on Sunday. The first ever unsigned artist to be named on BBC’s Sound of… List in 2017, her irresistible blend of classically soulful vocals and grime-inspired lyrical wit promise to be a weekend highlight.

Australian rising star Jordan Rakei will also perform on Sunday. Jordan’s jazzy hip-hop notes sound like a mix between Frank Ocean and Stevie Wonder and have already won him critical acclaim worldwide.

Also hitting up the main stage over the course of the weekend will be the Merseyside born and chart topping DJ James Hype, whose enigmatic sets combine his tastes for urban, garage and house music.

UK breakthrough artists Tom Zanetti & K.O Kane, Joel Culpepper, Laoise and more have also been revealed. The three ‘most ready’ artists chosen by the LIMF Academy will have the opportunity to perform on the main stage alongside this long list of household names over the LIMF weekend.

Proudly supporting the sound of the next generation from Merseyside, LIMF have announced the first wave of acts for the itsLiverpool Next Gen Stage, powered by the LIMF Academy. Performers will include The Vryll Society, Trudy And The Romance, Zuzu, Jalen N’Gonda, Haarm, Queen Zee, Sub Blue, Astles, Spinn, TV ME, Pale Rider, Neil Noa, and many more, with the 2018-2019 Academy artists to be announced soon.

This year LIMF will be exploring the theme of ‘Co-Exist and Connection’, marrying together multiple strands of the music and culture scenes with a line up spanning eras, genres and co-existing through the connection of music. LIMF will take place in Sefton Park with an eclectic and diverse line-up spanning three stages and a dedicated dance tent as well as activities for all the family to enjoy.

Previously announced artists for 2018 include Haçienda Classiçal, Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Wiley, Example & DJ Wire, Jax Jones, Stefflon Don, Aurora, Young Fathers, Rae Morris, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Trevor Nelson, Gilles Peterson and Jazzie B as well as Riton, Tough Love, Toddla T and more in The Shubz DJ Tent.
