Liverpool's first UV glow football launches

Budding footballers and those who enjoy five-a-side football can now play their favourite sport in the dark thanks to Kickerz Glow – Liverpool’s first UV glow football concept based in South Liverpool.

Kickerz Glow allows football enthusiasts of any age to get stuck into a game in the dark as they sport fluorescent kits that are provided for each session, whilst also dribbling a glow in the dark football and shooting into the fluorescent goals, that can all be seen thanks to the UV lights.

Perfect for children’s parties, hen and stag do’s, corporate team building or even a great alternative to outdoor five-a-side football when the weather doesn’t permit, Kickerz Glow lights a competitive spark amongst those taking part as they show off their skills in a unique environment.

Based just five minutes from Liverpool city centre at Unity Youth Centre, Dove Street, Liverpool, the guys behind Kickerz Glow have even created a Premier League-style welcome room complete with full astroturf, a press board for post match interviews and pegs where the team’s kits await.

The company’s founders, friends Andrai Jones and Shaun Mangan, who also run the sister company Kickerz Coaching where they provide academy-style coaching, came up with the concept due to Liverpool’s love of football. Renowned for the city’s two famous clubs Liverpool and Everton FC, the coaches wanted to give football fans a chance to experience playing a game in a totally different way.

Both Andrai, 26, and Shaun, 25, are qualified in various levels of coaching badges and have previously played professional football, with Andrai still in semi-professional football.

Andrai says: “Kickerz Glow is a totally different way of playing a game of football. Football enthusiasts’ eyes light up regardless of their age when they walk into the dark room with nothing but the UV lights emphasising their glow in the dark kit. It’s not just football we do though as we can also tailor a session to various other multisports including dodgeball.

“We’ve had so much interest already from children’s parties and are very excited to see where we can take Kickerz Glow. Liverpool boxer Natasha Jonas also recently supported us by posting on her Instagram page.”
