Music Hall Tavern is bringing the sunshine back to Liverpool at the Epstein

The nights may be cold and dark but Liverpool theatre-goers can get a taste of the summer when one of the most popular shows in the Canary Islands returns to the city for one night only with their Brand new show for 2017.

The Music Hall Tavern theatre show comes to the Epstein Theatre Liverpool on Wednesday 15 March and a limited number of seats are still available.

Billed as The Funniest Night Out of the Year, the popular family-themed musical drag review has been playing in the Canary Islands for more than 20 years and has established itself as a firm favourite with UK visitors.

The side-splitting show, which boasts lavishly dazzling costumes, has become one of the hottest tourist attractions in the Canaries with more than 120,000 holidaymakers paying to watch the performers each year.

MHT Tour Director Geoffrey Hindmarch says “This year we are returning with an even more spectacular show, the cast have been working tirelessly to give our audiences a night to remember, we have some great new numbers, and a few cheeky surprises up our sleeves, or should I say feather boa’s!”

Featuring the gorgeous Showcase International Dancers along with live singing, cheeky comedy sketches and the music of Sister Act,  Abba, Freddie Mercury, and The King and I among many others.

Many of the show’s fans, who range in age from nine to 99, go back year after year and demand from the fans led to the launch of an annual UK and Ireland tour back in 2012.

Now in it’s fifth year the visit to Liverpool will feature in part 2 of the Tour which will see the “girls” play 35 dates across the UK and Ireland before ending their run in The Blackpool Grand on 9 April.

Thousands of British families watch the show every year across four islands – Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.

Founder, producer and lead cast member Paul Carroll says, “It’s a real feel-good show that entertains people of all ages, lifts everyone’s spirits and leaves them wanting more.

“We have families and groups of work mates all enjoying the show from start to finish. The last four tours have gone down so well that we wanted to make a brand new show for this year, to keep our fans happy.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support we have had both in the Canary Islands and in the UK and this year we have also been awarded for our support to Macmillan. So I can’t thank our audiences enough.

“The opening night was amazing, and Miss Peggy-Lee has joined our cast for the first UK and Ireland tour with us, and it certainly has the wow factor like never before.”

After appearing in Liverpool, the show will then move onto Guildford, Mansfield and Stoke, before completing the rest of the tour.
