New Comedy Club to launch in one of the city’s coolest venues
The Liverpool Comedy Club, Liverpool’s new home of stand-up comedy, will open its doors to the public on Saturday 17th September in one of the city’s most exciting venues.
From the unique and ultra-trendy Camp and Furnace in the Baltic Triangle, The Liverpool Comedy Club will host the very best comedians from the international Comedy Circuit every Saturday night.
The people behind this new venture are husband and wife team Brendan Riley and Val Brady from Big Comedy UK. This will be their second venture in the city as they already run the Trip Advisor Award winning Liverpool Comedy Cellar at The Magnet in Hardman Street.
Brendan with over 20 years’ experience in the industry, both as a comedian and promoter, was one of the regular comperes at Liverpool’s Rawhide Comedy Club. Val has over 15 years’ experience as a promoter and was the booker for the Rawhide Comedy Club and the Liverpool Comedy Festival for over 10 years.
Liverpool Comedy Club’s first season features double headline bills from the finest stand-up comedians around, including Steve Royle (as seen on Phoenix Nights and Sunday Night at the Palladium), Andrew Ryan (as seen on Russell Howards Good News) and Liverpool favourites Keith Carter as Nige, Steve Gribbin and Jamie Sutherland.
“Following the success of The Liverpool Comedy Cellar at The Magnet we have been looking to expand into another area of the City. The Camp and Furnace is a totally different style of venue to The Magnet, so this project should attract a brand new audience. This has got to be an extremely positive move for the ever-growing live comedy scene in Liverpool.” Brendan Riley.
