New national station ‘Greatest Hits Radio’ launches in Liverpool

Liverpool’s Radio City 2 has relaunched today into an exciting new national radio brand – Greatest Hits Radio.

The rebranding of the station is part of a multi-million pound investment from Bauer Media, under which the station has become the flagship for the Greatest Hits Radio Network.

Current Breakfast show host, Rossie welcomes a new national audience, as he broadcasts from Liverpool each weekday morning from 6am-10am with The Guide Liverpool’s Claire Simmo taking on the UK’s traffic and travel bulletins across the morning show. Rossie t is well known to listeners in the North West, having first joined Radio City in 2005. After 10 years at the station, he moved to Radio City 2 in December 2015 where he has presented on Breakfast ever since.

Retaining a soundtrack of the biggest songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s, Greatest Hits Radio offers listeners an upbeat, authentic, fun and entertaining format where ‘Good Times Sound Like This’. Celebrating music from artists like Blondie, Queen, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, INXS, Elton John and Michael Jackson – Greatest Hits Radio promises to be for those who are loving life more than ever before.

The station retains its local news, traffic and travel and information listeners need, as well as the presenters they know and love. Plus they’ll now be able to take the station with them wherever they go across the country on DAB digital radio – ensuring they’re never far from the Greatest Hits.

As part of the exciting new changes to the station, renowned broadcaster Mark Goodier joins the weekday line-up, and there are also shows from familiar presenters including, Andy Crane who presents afternoons, Darren Proctor who hosts Drivetime, and Rick Houghton on evenings.
