Liverpool Theatre to reopen after more than 50 years for Pop-Up Christmas Cinema Event

Fancy watching your favourite Christmas film in one of Liverpool’s hidden gems this December?

Then get your family and friends together and check out The Park Palace Theatre’s pop up cinema next weekend.
On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December, Harrison Stringfellow Architects and friends invite you to join in some festive fun and watch a family-favourite Christmas film, or two, at The Park Palace Theatre, Mill Street, L8 as it opens its doors for the first time since 1959.
The aim of the event is to raise funds and awareness for ‘Park Palace Ponies’ – a social enterprise which provides riding lessons and engagement with ponies, to children and families who live in the local area.
Park Palace Ponies will be based at the Toxteth site in the new year and aims to bring horses back into the inner city to benefit the whole neigh-bourhood, starting by making new friendships at their pop-up cinema event.
The enterprise is set to open in February 2017 as the renovation process of converting the former theatre into the pony riding arena gets underway.

Having secured four additional grazing sites for the ponies, Harrison Stringfellow Architects are dedicated to regenerating the Mill Street site while ensuring the breath-taking original architecture remains untouched.
The pop-up cinema event is the first opportunity to open this local landmark up to the public in years. The invitation is extended to all members of the community, residents, businesses and organisations, who may have always wondered what’s inside, and also those who experienced the theatre in its hay day to visit and have a bit of a reminisce.

With a selection of seasonal food and drink, live carol singing and a visit from a very special guest, this is a family friendly opportunity for a festive celebration at a stunning Liverpool landmark that has been waiting patiently for its chance to shine again.

Tickets for the pop up cinema film showings are priced at £6 for adults and £4 for children and can be booked by clicking here. The fun starts at 3pm (last entry at 4pm).
