SoulFest 2016: 10 Things You Need to Know

Liverpool SoulFest is back this weekend with a whole heap of soulfulness for everyone!

From 12pm on Saturday 8th October, until late on Sunday 9th, Arts Club, Heebie Jeebies and District House will host the finest Soul acts, performances, workshops, food stalls and vinyl collections for festival goers to pour over.

Here’s all the SoulFest 2016 info you need to know! 

1 – SoulFest daytime events are free. Seriously…..how good is that? All the action begins at 12pm on Saturday 8th October and runs right through until late on Sunday 9th.

2 – Soul Zone at Arts Club, Seel Street is a real celebration of soul culture offering dance, workshops, health and well-being, stalls, food and a big old collection of VINYL! Cancel your Saturday plans and take a wander around. Starts at 12pm.

3 –  SoulFest has grown! This year Heebie Jeebies is hosting Fringe Event. What an awesome venue for it too! Featuring a whole host of up and coming soul artists with a great line up of live music. Entry is free and starts at 12pm.

4 – SoulFest wouldn’t be complete without a closing event! Soul Sunday is happening at District House and J.Appiah, New Power Soul Club and loads more awesome acts will be entertaining you throughout the evening. With live music, a three course meal and a sleek venue, we cant think of a better way to finish off a fabulous weekend!

5 – Have you seen this years headline acts? None other than British Soul Singer Lemar and former BBC 1Xtra presenter, DJ Ronnie Herel will take to the stage to croon and spin the decks respectively! Check out the full line up here.

6 – We’re so proud to be writing about the wealth of local, homegrown talent that’s on the bill for SoulFest 2016. Artists such as Mersey Wylie (6pm, Sat) , Deliah (9pm, Sat), Tosin Salako and Tabitha Jade are just a few. Liverpool based artists flying the flag for Soul Music! G’wed!

7 –  Some incredible artists from outside the city have been invited to play. You will hear from    and more.

8 – Hot new Liverpool band, LAWalkway are really making a mark in the industry, none other than Nile Rodgers has been bigging them up and you can see them live at Soul Fest this weekend. Remember where you seen them first!

9 – Check out hte incredible wellness workshop, Saturday 12-4pm with Joel Jalen. He will be teaching you some soulful exercises to help you relax and live a more soulful life. Watch our chat with him below.
