Sport: AAA Sports Memorabilia support local gym fight night

AAA Sports Memorabilia showed their commitment to local sport, by sponsoring a fight night hosted by Masda Gym of Kensington.

Watch our highlights video from the night, above.

Masda fighters won all five fights on the night, much to the delight of sponsors AAA Sports Memorabilia, with David Faulker winning the main event. Read on for full results from the event.

PRO MMA – Main Event

David Faulkner, 37 (MASDA)                           V                           Ashley Gibson, 30 (HALIFAX)

Now fighting out of Masda Gym in Liverpool, David made his comeback to professional MMA after 5 years out of the cage. David, who has only 1 previous loss in his pro record, showed everyone why he was the favourite against Ashley Gibson from Halifax, defeating him inside the first round with a spectacular armbar finish.

Terry Hayburn, 32 (MASDA GYM)         V                   Brad Raiden, 30 (HALIFAX)

Terry has a good background of wrestling and grappling, so when he fought he knew he wanted to get the takedown first. This was proven a success as he stopped his fight with a kimura just 1min 10 sec into round 1.

Luke Bennett, 22 (MASDA GYM)        V            Jordan Gavin, 21 (MANCHESTER)

Luke has good knowledge and a wealth of experience of Muay Thai but wanted to experience and learn more about the ground game in this fight. Unfortunately, it never went to the ground as Luke caught his opponent with a clean head kick which rocked him and the referee jumped in to call off the fight for Jordan’s safety.

Lewis Mutch, 18 (MASDA GYM)            V                    Owen Martin, 16 (HAMMA)

This was Lewis’ first MMA fight and he put up a strong battle against his talented opponent Owen. The first 2 rounds were tough for Lewis but he fought back hard and in the 3rd round the referee stopped the contest in favour of Lewis due to ground and pound.

Tommy Liu, 19 (MASDA GYM)                        V            Hayden Sherriff, 19 (MANCHESTER)

Tommy joined Masda Gym, Liverpool in September 2017 and has had 2 professional Muay Thai fights since joining. He unfortunately lost his first fight but came back with a bang on this show and won the fight after the second round, with a stoppage by low kicks.
