Summer Football on the Dock offers free footy sessions on a floating pitch!
Get your little kickers lacing up and ready for a kick about as Summer Football on the Dock returns with a brand new look.
The action packed summer programme continues at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool with the return of free football coaching sessions. Led by Everton in the Community and the LFC Foundation, brand new for this year, Summer Football on the Dock’s pop-up pitch, will be on a floating pontoon on the water!
Fresh off the back of the thrilling FIFA World Cup and The Art of Football: Common Ground exhibition on The Colonnades, Summer Football on the Dock will run from 2nd -22nd August and gives youngsters the chance to enjoy a kickabout right in the heart of the Dock’s Grade I listed pavilions.
Coaches from Everton in the Community and the LFC Foundation will be on hand to share their vast knowledge and help young footballers develop their skills, brush up on their ball control and get to grips with teamwork. Alongside this are courses to inspire the next generation of female footballers too.
Clare Rawlinson, Marketing Manager at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool said: “The floating football pitch is certainly a first in the Dock’s 172-year history – who wouldn’t want to play some football in such a unique and stunning location? We know visitors of all ages and ability are going to have a blast and it doesn’t matter if they are a boy or a girl, football fan or not, experienced or a novice, a red or a blue! Summer Football is for everyone to take part in.”
Shin pads at the ready, here’s 5 Things you need to know about Summer Football on the Dock…..
1 – Summer Football on the Dock runs from 2nd t0 22nd August 2018 and it’s free to take part
2 – Daily sessions run from 11am until 3pm (2nd to 10th August ) and 11am until 4pm (11th to 22nd August) and there’s no need to book
3 – People of all ages and all abilities are invited to drop by and join in the action
4 – There are open sessions and mini tournaments to join in plus sessions just for girls too.
5 – All children under 13 must be signed in with a parent or guardian. Parents/guardians will be able to watch all the action from the Fanzone Viewing Area.
Summer Football on the Dock joins a packed programme of events for all ages at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool. Pirates on the Dock returns with swashbuckling action this September and if you can’t wait until then, August Bank Holiday weekend sees the welcome return of Folk on the Dock, a world class festival showcasing the very best live music and more.
