There’s a new fitness craze in town – Boogie Bounce Xtreme
There’s a new fitness craze that’s spreading across the globe. It’s extremely fun and extremely effective at getting you fit. It’s Boogie Bounce Xtreme!
Combining trampoline exercises with feel-good music, this class is more like a night out than a work out – which exactly why we love it so much!
The great news is that you can take the class right here in Liverpool, thanks to personal trainer Nikki McGlory. She fell in love with this energetic fitness class straight away and now runs her own sessions in Fazakerly. We sat down with Nikki to find out more:
What makes boogie bounce different from other gym classes?
Everybody who attends this class says it’s nothing like going to the gym, as it’s such a good time! It’s more like a social gathering or going out as the class takes place in a function room with disco lights and great music playing. The music and routines constantly change, but are always really uplifting. We play everything from club music to 80’s music, disco to pop Every 8 to 10 weeks I am so excited to see what’s coming next!
Why are trampolines so great for keeping fit?
I have found the trampettes (mini trampoline) are amazing for people’s fitness, and even my own fitness level. The way the trampettes make you bounce is so much more effective than hitting the hard ground. They give you much more energy and lift in your step – they really are amazing! With very little impact, it’s a great way to do your cardio, rather than running and aerobics, both of which cause impact on your joints and in the long run can cause injuries.

What do you love most about Boogie Bounce?
What I love about Boogie Bounce is the fun factor, but also the ability it gives you to improve your fitness. I have taught people who have gone from hating to work out, to totally loving exercising, which is a result in its self! Opening people’s eyes to what they can achieve is so rewarding. Every 8 to 10 weeks we update the music and routines, which keeps it thoroughly interesting and exciting.
When did you start teaching Boogie Bounce?
I have worked in the fitness industry since I was 17 years old; in gyms, running my own studio, and teaching fitness classes – but when Boogie Bounce came along I knew that it was something special as it was so different and fun! There was a real gap in the market for such a fun way to workout. So, I enrolled on a course to become a Boogie instructor, and have run my own class successfully since September 2015. It’s just gone crazy, everyone is addicted!
What are the main benefits of Boogie Bounce?
The benefits from Boogie Bounce are endless; from losing weight to toning up, building lean muscle tissue, strengthening joint and ligaments, increased flexibility – not to mention lifting your mood! This form of exercise is a great natural anti-depressant.
Is the class suitable for everyone?
Boogie Bounce is suitable for all levels of fitness. Another element that I love about the class is that you’re on your own mini trampoline with a supported T bar, so you’re completely in charge of what you’re doing. There is very little impact involved, which is great on our joints.
