These are the official Giant Spectacular 2018 highlights

Four giants, 1.3 million people, four days and a lifetime of memories from one spectacular weekend.

The Giant Spectacular 2018 will be marked in history as the biggest and most successful event the city has ever seen. In partnership, Royal de Luxe and Culture Liverpool set out to bring Liverpool’s Dream to the coastline, parks and streets of Merseyside and it far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Spanning more than 20 miles, three Giants, made from the stuff of Gone man’s dreams, wowed generations of families, school children and visitors alike as more than 1.3million people lined the streets to see them perform.

From St George’s Hall and Princes Park to the shores of New Brighton and our iconic waterfront, the Giant Man, Little Boy, Xolo the Dog and the Little Girl weaved their way around the city and into our hearts. Singing ‘Yellow Sub’, staging races on The Strand, jumping over washing lines and sailing away in giant shoes, these four characters have become part of our city’s history.

The Guide Liverpool accepted the huge honour of providing the official video coverage of the event, a feat we’re incredible proud of and above, you can see the highlights of one incredible weekend in our beloved city. Happy couples shared their wedding days, visitors travelled from across oceans and one very special little boy had his dreams realised as he became an official Liliputian.

Royal de Luxe Director and creator of the Giants, Jean Luc Courcoult thanked the city, now known as the Giants second home on the waterfront during an emotional final, farewell.

He said: “It was only a story about giants who were passing brought Liverpool to carry the crowds dreams above the tides.

“Liverpool is bleeding and will always bleed in our hearts. From the heart of this company I hold you in my giant arms. Thank you thank you thank you.”
