Toploader & The Feeling to play Crabbies Grand National

Aintree Racecourse has announced its music lineup for this years Grand Opening Day and Ladies Day of the Crabbie’s Grand National Festival, Thursday 7th April and Friday 8th April.

Top loader will kick off the Festival in style in the Aintree Pavilion on Grand Opening Day, Thursday 7th April at 5.30pm, with some of their greatest hits such as ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ which became a global hit for the band.

Lead Singer of Toploader, Joe Washbourne, said: “We’re thrilled to be playing at the opening of the Crabbie’s Grand National at Aintree this year. We’ve all watched and bet on the National for years so it will be great to be there in person and help kick off the festivities!”

Westlife star, Brian McFadden will be DJ’ing and entertaining the crowds on Grand Opening Day at 6.30pm. Brian has amassed worldwide, record – breaking success since the beginning of his career, achieving seven straight Number 1 singles with Westlife, selling 50 million records and, most recently, has joined forces with Boyzone’s Keith Duffy to form ‘Boyzlife’ for an already sold-out tour starting in October.

Sporting Soprano, Laura Wright, who will be singing the National Anthem on Crabbie’s Grand National Day, will also be performing in the Red Rum Lawn before the last race on Grand Opening Day at 4.55pm. The Classical singer, renowned for performing at some of the biggest sporting events in the World, including the Rugby World Cup will be bringing her elegant style and superb voice to sing some of her upbeat classical hits on Grand Opening Day.

The excellent musical line-up doesn’t stop there with the electric string quartet and Global stars, Escala and The Feeling headlining Ladies Day on Friday 8th April.

Escala will kick off the entertainment on Ladies Day in the Red Rum Lawn at 5.30pm with some of their classical pop crossover hits that helped them rise to global stars and performing with the likes of Katherine Jenkins, Brian May, Richard Ashcroft and Pink Floyd.

Brit award-nominated band, The Feeling will also be entertaining the Ladies Day crowds in the Aintree Pavilion from 5.30pm with some of their world renowned greatest hits such as ‘Sewn’ and ‘Fill my little world’.

“We’re only just over a week away from the Festival and it’s shaping up to be another superb three days. The Aintree site looks excellent, the music line-up is superb, we have the biggest ever Style Award prize and the entries to the Crabbie’s Grand National race are the best we’ve had in many years.
