Calling all Scousers! Get your trainies on and sign up to the Radio City Scouse 5K, kicking off at St George’s Hall this Sunday.
Whether you’re an accomplished runner, or a complete newbie, you’re welcome to take part. Some will run, some will walk and some are rumoured to be disco-dancing around the city route and they’ll all be doing it in the curliest, bounciest scouse barry wigs we’ve ever seen!
Here’s 10 things you need to know about the 2016 Scouse 5k
1 – The race begins at 9am this Sunday 18th September at St George’s Hall.
2 – And there’s still some places left if you fancy it. Sign up here.
3 – Kids can take part too! Why not make it a family affair and get the little ones involved too?
4- Arrive in plenty of time to collect you wig, take loads of selfies and have a tactical wee!
5 – Please note, there are no entries on the day. Those who registered late can collect their bibs from the tent at The Walker Art Gallery from 8am.
6 – Katumba, Batala Mersey and Wirral Samba band will be whipping the crowd into a frenzy with their drumming beats.
7 – There’s a good few local celebs and famous faces taking part this year. Who will you spot under a sea of colourful wigs?
8 – The Race charity partner is Clatterbridge and your much needed funds will go towards a brand new cancer hospital in the North West. Dig deep and donate what you can.
9 – The route takes runners/walkers past some of the cities iconic landmarks, from St George’s Hall to both of our majestic Cathedrals, the stunning Georgian Quarter and Philharmonic Hall.
10 – The finishers medal is boss…..and there’s old school rainbow drops and Haribo and lollipops at the end! Three reasons to take part right there!
We’re arming our Kate with a go-pro as she takes on the Scouse 5k for The Guide Liverpool. Look out for her and her bright pink wig and give us a wave! We wanna see loads of shell trackies, handlebar tasches and rollers! Go for gold!
